I wrote this piece for the theater work “Watercat” (Original novel by Haruki Amanuma) in 2007. This is a boys’ bizarre story.
After reading the original, I thought that this work is a story about one of the periods in the process before becoming an adult. And I don’t know why but it made me think that our “life” is anytime in the flow of the seasons. It is like as a musical repeating motif with modulations. For example, last summer and this summer are not the same, and next year will also not be the same …
I was thinking about it while I was writing this piece.

J’ai écrit cette pièce pour l’œuvre théâtrale “Watercat” (roman original de Haruki Amanuma) en 2007. C’est une histoire bizare des garçons.
Après avoir lu l’original, J’ai pensé que ce travail est une histoire sur l’une des périodes dans le processus avant de devenir adulte.
Et je ne sais pas pourquoi mais cela m’a fait penser que notre «vie» est toujours dans le coulant des saisons. C’est comme un motif musical répétitif avec des modulations.
Par exemple, l’été dernier et cet été ne sont pas les mêmes, et l’année prochaine ne sera pas non plus la même …
J’y pensais pendant que j’écrivais cette pièce.

[jp] “季節の中で生きている” この曲は2007年に演劇”水に棲む猫”の伴奏をした時に作った曲。原作は少年たちが主な登場人物の一風変わった話。
原作を読んで、この物語は大人になるまでのプロセスの一コマを抜き出したモノなんだと思った。そしてなぜかは分からないけれど、”季節”の中に我々の”生”はあるのだなぁ…とふと思った。それは音楽における変調を伴いながら繰り返されるモチーフみたい。例えば、去年の夏と今年の夏は違うし、来年もまた違う筈…みたいなね。
そういう事を思いながら書いた曲。
